Coach & Context
Coach & Context
A course in Organizational Constellations - with Oscar David
Participants
This Dutch-language course is intended for managers and professionals involved in coaching who are interested in deepening their understanding of how working environments influence the way people function.
Description
The training provided by this course demonstrates how people are affected by the field of influences within an organization. Issues related to interpersonal relationships at work stem from this field of influences, which we refer to as the organizational context. The latter is determined by several factors including the history of the organization, its unwritten rules, definitions of power and authority, and a number of other aspects usually referred to collectively simply as the company culture.
When there is lack of clarity as to how the organizational context is operating, it is difficult to make a correct assessment of situations. Lack of recognition of historical or hierarchical relationships can lead to unnecessary errors of judgement or persistent conflicts. Creating greater awareness of the organizational context is not only conducive to better understanding, it enables the implementation of appropriate measures to bring about change.
Working with organizational constellations allows a diagnosis to be made of the current context. This diagnosis brings underlying dynamics to light and reveals solutions to related problems. Once the organizational context has been made more visible, it is easier to find appropriate ways of working with it.
Results
- Increased awareness of the influence of the organizational context in general, and of the specific way in which it determines interactions between employees and with clients.
- Tools are provided to managers and professionals allowing them to make context-related issues visible and thus more manageable.
